Run & RPM - 100113 - Done

Running with group for 20km in the morning.
Did RPM Challenge session after work.

January the month to get legs tired and body to push to limits.

Running
Distance: 20KM
Date: 10-01-2013, Thursday
Time: 5:15am.

As usual Thursday, running with the group for 20KM. Start off with fresh legs, but soon after that i can feel my legs were not warm enough, getting slow while going uphills. only after some 20 minutes, i got the feel back but then, i feel my legs dont have much power. FYI, this week, since Monday, i'm been few sessions of RPM and running.

Powerless legs, but still can run without any problems. Just have to bear it. 1km after another km...

遇到她, 与之前一次相遇比, 果然变了。看来驶出什么十八式的避开我。

Reached at Petronas ngam ngam 1 hour, and back to car park took me much longer as my fuel tank was almost empty. it's only can last me 1 hours 30mins and i start to feel hungry! Gr... i still have another 6KM to go.. aka 40mins like that... just depends on water, i know it's part of parcel in my training. I'm gotta be stronger.

When uphills, i walked. Downhills, i ran!

RPM Challenge Session
Time: 6.45pm

Somehow, every sessions are FULL HOUSE! Really kanasai when i'm "late". Late as in there's so many people Q in front of me although im step into gym 20 minutes earlier before the session start. Today's session start 6:45pm, i reached at gym at 6:02pm, and there's already 10 people in front of me! *Kiasu* mode on!

Q and register.

Although morning had 20km run, evening RPM, i still can feel my legs. Still managed to push my heart rate up to 170, at least it's good for me.

6 out of 32 RPM sessions completed today.

It's now the recovery game and nutrition playing important part beside running and RPM like almost everyday since Monday.

Extreme Ride 2013 - RPM - 3 hours

This extreme ride 2013 is organized by the gym i join, won't be mentions since it's not sponsored post nor would encourage anyone to join the gym.

Previously when im looked at the poster, it's show a man riding mountain bike... i was wondering, how on earth a gym encourage its members to ride mountain bike. Not really keen on it.

As coming back from the new year in Penang where my Malakoff Interstate Fellowship ride and eating marathon took place, when back at KL, busy with closing. No time to rest.

While on 3rd of Jan 2013 (Thursday), even busy with closing, i promised group to run 20km... we started at 5:15am and on that day, i only had 5 hours of sleep... I'm the still same old me, the constant speed which wont be able to run faster nor slower... Just clocked 18km for 2 hours of running time.

Surprisingly, i felt my running were okay although initially i felt sore on my legs due to muscles were not warming up. At evening after work, went to gym for RPM... i need to flash out my acid from Malakoff interstate ride.

that's where i heard explanation from the instructor about this "Extreme Ride 2013"... Rupa-nya need to get the 32 attendances of RPM sessions to entitle for registration of 3 hours RPM session.... which started on 2nd Jan 2013...

Zzzz.... somehow it's spike my interest to join the challenge... just minimum of 4 RPM sessions per week for 8 weeks. It's can be part and parcel of my Ultra running training which sound so wrong. I'm been thinking and considering whether my decision is right or not...

Today I'm just figuring out. How many minutes i spend in RPM session, and it's going to be double of RPM time to spend in running. Hope I'm making the right decision and achievable decision. Let's wait and see.

As at todate: 7th Jan 2013, I attended 4/32 since 3rd Jan 2013 my first session. I decided in order to make good use of the RPM session, i shall wear my heart rate monitor...

Except my 1st RPM session, i did not wear my heart rate monitor.....

Let's see how's im going to mix my RPM session with my running.

Btw, since 2nd Jan, i'm partially being screwed by WhatsApp as i need to updates my iOS 4.2.1 to latest iOS, somehow, each time i try to updates also fails... since 2nd Jan.... FML... I'm writing this as im downloading iOS file manually... been waiting the download to complete. Another big screwed again which i foresee i'm going to cancel the download and sleep. Tomorrow shall be running at evening!

Sundown UltraMarathon 2013 - 14 September 2013

I got to know this, Sundown UltraMarathon 2013 is back! Sundown UltraMarathon 100KM was my virgin Ultra race back in 2011 June. It's was my stepping stone to other ultra races since then.

Date: 14 September 2013.
Will i join again this year?

It's a difficult question for me. Back in 2011, i joint because of 1 undisclosed reason. While that was back in 2011, the reason no longer valid. 1 undisclosed reason lead to surprises in my running life since then. I falls in love with trail running and joint two ultra trail races back in 2011 and 2012. While this year, i'm also planning another ultra trail races...

it's all about trail race. I'm not sure whether im still in for the road race. I'm just not sure anymore.

btw, im just realized, i never blog about my Sundown UltraMarathon experience... =.='''

Argh... Sundown UltraMarathon 2011 - Hall of Fame

Malakoff Interstate Fellowship Ride 2012/2013 Day 1

31 Dec 2012

Malakoff Interstates Fellowship Ride 2012/2013

Time: 7:00am
Distance: 180KM

I never joins Malakoff Penang interstates before. Thus I decided to join this year. With off season in cycling and back to training 2 weeks before today, I'm successful complete 180KM without any problems!

No problems on bike nor gears nor tyre ! I'm physically and mentally managed to complete with so called "Honeymoon" ride pace. At one point, I'm feel like sleepy & boring!

It's 180KM with 3 stops. It's speed controlled ride. A maroon color pajero leads us. The starting point for this year begins at Bagan Jamal R&R area.
Guess many were disappointed when found out this year no Penang Bridge crossing. The 1st 60KM, some Padi field scenes, palm oil estate and importantly we rode past my hometown which is Serdang Kedah. We have our 1st stop at Caltex, Selama Perak. The next 60KM, and we still will return to the same Caltex for second stop. I never aware or know that, Selama side Perak have some awesome cycling route with some hills that can makes my heart go excited since I'm mostly on honeymoon pace with 1st peloton !

It's not too bad the 1st 60KM I achieve average speed of 31KM/Hr! I was drafting behind the first peloton all the way! Now you know why I called this "Honeymoon" Ride! Haha

In the last 40KM, I'm with the first peloton, the speed were increasing slowly from 25km/Hr plus to 30km/Hr plus... During last 10KM, suddenly "boom" sous heard! It's was one of the cyclist tyre blow! Then after that suddenly front peloton shouting SLOW ! It's seem two cyclists fell and 1 of them were at middle of road! He quickly got up, trying his best to stand up back, he try to grab his sunglasses I think and we were so fast that can't stop in time trying our best to avoid hitting him! Thank god, I'm just few CM away from his wheel! Then we continue as normal...

When we hits the highway, there's cyclists start to sprint and our speed hits 40km/Hr and above! Too bad, no one can draft with, I can't breakaway like others, just try maintains my speed around 35km/Hr...

The whole journey ends around 2.00pm plus. Basically my body wet for 7 hours! Hand dah kedut!
Checked out when I arrived, collected my goodies bag and jersey! After that quickly grab lunch to refuel. I'm still feel fresh!

After had my lunch, I followed Giant cyclists pedal back to Penang via ferry...

Thanks for the treat on ferry by S-Works Venge McLaren rider!

Back to hostel, cleaned my bike, my gears, my jersey and walked to nearby Penang road for famous Cendol and some other foods!

Trail Running @ Penang with NB MT110

Trail running @ Penang

29 Dec 2012.

Finally I got my New Balance MT110 trail shoe and so happens I got it on the day I go penang.

Never cross my mind that first thing to do when I reach Penang is to do a trail running starting from Youth Park !

Youth Park were my play ground during my college time in Penang. I trains for my Penang Bridge Half marathon, I alway hike up to Points 3 and Points 5 and whats most enjoyable was joining the public aerobic exercises at the field ! Its where i learn all the movements! The Aerobic exercise still available as I seen yesterday!

In my memory, in my last hike up to Points 3 & 5 memory, it's was really long long time ago! Yesterday I'm ran up to point 3 & 5, it's just took me some 25 mins! The conditions of trail are improved, cleaner now. Basically walks in the park sort of feel.

It's good to be able revisit back after so long!

Penang is hidden's gem for trail running.
