Super Ticket incoming...P2K Sunday Long Ride

Counting sleeps, another 2 sleeps, we will be standing at meeting point for the Super Ticket Ride #STR.
Last Sunday was our long ride before STR where we clocked 166KM. Initial destination was Kuala Selangor but changed to Sg Tengi last minutes as the road to K. Selangor are bad.

Somewhere... somewhere peloton is cruising at comfortable speed...

Real hot sun! Enjoyed it.

Loving the peloton !!!

Sun. Bike. Ride.

This part is 1 straight long boring road ! Btw, its potholes FREE ! loving the smooth surface!

Was so hungry, yet just want simple meal to recharge refuel the body. This meal suddenly recall Sifu Terrence's strategy when we were training for Sundown Ultra 100KM, back in 2010/2011. We just had simple white rice with eggs and curry... oh, no chicken added back then.
We at U-turn point clocked 75KM.

The thick cream on hot nescafe... =.='''

Sg. Tengi, basically a very small town of Felda which located half way to Slim River from Batang Berjuntai.

Cycling - Running - Cycling - Week 42, 25-26 Oct 2014

Cycling - Running - Cycling - Week 42, 20-26 Oct 2014.

Hello, hello, and hello again. I have been missing in action updating my training, my motivation source to keep me going and going further more.

This month, ran SCKLM and two months ago ran Kuching Marathon, its was running that dominate my training, my weekend, and left aside my beloved roadbike GIANT aside. Since the completion of SCKLM, i'm trying to get back to cycling.

Preparing this that, sini sana, i took some time to get back into cycling! On 22 Oct, its public holiday, I decided to cycle alone, too afraid to joins others as my cycling confidence were not with me. Its was from HOA - Genting Sempah - Bukit Tinggi - Genting Sempah - HOA.

Cycling uphills, im getting back the feel slowly. The cycling excitement are back when i'm decent downhills from Genting Sempah to HOA !!! WooHoo !!!

As the photo above, on 12 Oct 2014, I ran 42.195KM SCKLM, and PolarPersonalTrainer says i'm ready to train more on the next day which showing green labels for the next whole week.... Until i had my cycling session 22 Oct, its shows RED, - training not recommended.

Hmmm... why? Are cycling more intense than running? Or i have not run hard enough for Polar to grant me red label?

Over the weekend, i have decided to cycle Saturday and Sunday, and in between, there's Puma Night Run 10KM which i think i can handle, i can manage, since its just 10KM.

Initial plan was to join a new Facebook group ride that meet my intention without think twice that hit 3-digits distance. Whose know at the meeting point, i met with friends, who completed their Ironman race recently. Argh... Since they also doing 3-digits distance, i decided to abandon my initial plan and joins my friends! Great feel can ride with Ironman, kan...! hehe...

First time riding with the group. Lucky, i can manage to catch up with them. Riding to Kuala Selangor were hot and some head wind.

Never thought the meeting are so near to famous Meng Kee Char siew !!! We ending our ride with late lunch at Meng Kee Char Siew ! Bruppppp.... sort of recharged. Back home, got the bike clean up, shower and nap!

Nap from 3pm until 5pm plus... wake up by the sound of thunder! KL is raining!!! Was wondering how's my Puma Night later at Setia Alam, will it be cancel due to thunderstorm? Ate something before leaving house toward Setia Alam.

Its was hot, humid weather at Setia Alam !!! The ground were dry! The race started at 7:30am, i missed short distance races! The excitement the adrenaline rush to run faster in 10KM race! Its never hit my thought that night run were different kind of situation, soon after i ran about 2-3km, i sweat like mad... its was so hot !!! I know my body, and i start to run walk run walk as I cant breath / cant push to limit in such hot humid situation.

Somehow, somehow, i managed to hit sub60 timing !!! WooHoo !!!

On my way back home, passby this usual place that serve bitter gourd mee soup, and its suddenly hit my thought. I need that for reload for tomorrow ride with my usual P2K group ride!

Its suppose to be slow slow ride but when we cyclist jump on bike, whatever 手拉手ride promise no longer valid. Riding in big peloton group, its always feel good to ride behind peloton cruising 35 to 40km/hr. When there's holes, front riders will give hand signal, or if there's bigger hole, we shout to warn others.

We stopped at Batu Arang for refills.

Half way, or rather almost back to PJ, we had coconut water! The weather were so hot !

Weekend rides managed to hit 200KM in total plus 10KM running as bonus! What's a crazy insane weekend !

P2K Weekend KKB Ride - 06 April 2014.

Back to cycling. Back to my cycling group P2K. Rejoins back P2K for weekend ride. Last 2 weeks ago, we went to KKB. I been absent in cycling (outdoor real cycling on roadbike) for months, although im always consistent doing my RPM sessions in the gym.

I'm really missing the feel of riding in peloton cruising 30km/hr to 40km/hr on highway! Somehow, i'm really terrible in hill climb and i got dropped at templer hills. I never able to catch up with the peloton. Sigh. That left 3 of us working together toward KKB from Rawang!

Thank god, there's another group waiting. Waiting for us perhaps. From 3 riders, we now have about 8 to 9 riders in the peloton! It's become easier to ride ! We rides in peloton and each take turn to lead. I just love the feel of working together in peloton!

There's huge turnout on that weekend. I dont know why. Perhaps its just some warming up for some who doing Ironman 70.3 Putrajaya last weekend. They went back via Ulu Yam route, while we another route went back the same route we came.

#Selfie time while waiting for 1 female rider who having some sudden pains on her knee. Her speed dropped significantly. Hope she recover well.

Blue or Gold for RM10.50 ? haha. We were refueling @ Shell station Rawang. Last stop before heading back to home.

P2K riders were having their refuel.

6 April 2014 - 131KM completed.
Home - Uptown - Batu Cave - Rawang - KKB - Rawang - Kepong - Home.

P2K Ipoh Rides 140712

I done it. Riding from PJ to Ipoh on 14th July 2012, Saturday covering distance of 210KM.
I done it! What's surprised me was, my average speed were 34KM/Hr for the whole 210KM...

PJ to Ipoh. Nothing is impossible!

19 P2K cyclists !

At Rawang...

At Serendah...

Somewhere... on the way to Ipoh via trunk road.

99KM to go till reaching Ipoh!

Riding in peloton are awesome! Specially when you can follow the peloton for 170KM...

Thank you P2K brothers and sister in leading the peloton.

We had our first stop at Slim River where we cycled 100KM for breakfast aka lunch aka refills aka recharge. Had some nice mihun mee at chinese stall... It's were good peloton speed where no one was dropped. The speed were constant above 35KM/hr mostly flat. It's really feel good.

As for myself, I'm a bit surprised as i'm just recover from fever sickness. For the past 1 week, i only cycled once RPM session on Thursday, that was not putting 100% effort into the RPM. It's was just testing my power, my feel post fever. Thank god, i'm fully recovered and feel in power.

After the rest, we continue our cycling to Ipoh. Weather is getting hotter... The peloton continue speeding with constant speed above 35KM/hr. I start feeling it's getting harder as weather getting hotter, and my energy level not same as previous first 100KM. Following the group become harder and harder. One of cyclist had flat, we stopped at palm estate roadside rest... We were just 10KM away from Bidor and 20KM away from Tapah.

If my memory served well, we arrived at Tapah Shell for another rest, that's clocked 170KM. Checked my Cateye meter, average speed were 35KM/hr. :)

It's really hot! We continue our ride. We next stop, which reaching ipoh town, and we agreed Simpang Pulai Petronas would be our next stop or rather last stop before into Ipoh town. Some how, there's 1 cyclist already breakaway from peloton, far in front of us. There lead seem getting faster and faster. I'm trying hard to follow with peloton, the peloton speed were getting faster, starting with 30km/hr, then 35km/hr and then 40km/hr... I'm still able to follow, but it's getting harder for me yet the peloton speed were getting higher, at one point, it's breaking 45km/hr, that's when i'm dropped.

Cursing.. Cursing like usual training when i'm get dropped. Where your all got your power pedaling for speed above 45km/hr after 170KM riding! Foreveralone cycling is normal for me when cycle with P2K. Without peloton's drafting help, my speed hardly hit 35km/hr. It's was just around 30KM/hr single effort.

Counting KM... when, how far, how many more KM im reaching Simpang Pulai Petronas!

Met back with the group at Simpang Pulai Petronas around 3pm. Then we cycled into Ipoh town together with "slow" speed.

I done my PJ - Ipoh ride! Thank god. By the way, after the weekend rides, my weight dropped 2kg. wahaha!

End.
