We Run KL 10k 2012 - Race day!
Congratulation to We Run KL runners! you're 1 step closer to the Nike We Run KL 10KM 15,000 runners running race in the heart of KL city centre on 13 Oct 2012.
Was at The Curve... not collecting race bib but went to gym...
I'm surprised with the speed the event organizer building the tent. On Thursday morning, there's already setup the tent.... but without the design... and Friday morning, race bib collection started.
While the race bib collection held from Friday until Sunday evening, on Monday morning, it's gone. All dismantled !
Here's the map of starting line and parking as shown. Yay, tips from my reader on previous post were right. Starting point nearby Zouk, some where near Zouk but toward Renaissance Hotel.
Anticipate 15,000 runners will be running Nike We Run KL 2012, i did not believe on the parking sign shows on the photos above have the capacity for runners to park their cars!
Words of advice: USES PUBLIC TRANSPORT ! You can explore the GO KL FREE BUSES !
Btw, do not trust this simple map. If you're driving, i bet you will be frustrate to the max and stuck in the jam. USES public transport to go starting point!
The nearest Putra LRT station would be Dang Wangi.
The nearest Monorail station would be Bukit Nanas.
These two stations, it's might be giving some trouble to enter the "starting line pen" as you would need to walk to back and enter. Mind you, Jalan Ampang is 4 lanes wide road, the starting arch would occupied 3 lanes. 1 lane for what? for traffic for car to continue their journey or for runners to walk and enter to starting line area? I dont know...
While, if you are not kiasu type, relax enjoying your Nike We Run KL, i would advise you to come out from Putra LRT KLCC station and walk toward starting line. You would be reaching at the back of starting line... no hurry.. relax and enjoy and no need sardine with other runners.
Okay. This is only for getting at starting point. How about finishing point? FYI, the NIKE WE RUN KL finishing point have changed to Padang Merbok from Dataran Merdeka. No more Dataran Merdeka as finishing point.
This is why i'm keep mentioning USES PUBLIC TRANSPORT to the starting line as finishing line are not the same venue where you started your run!
If you have decided to park your car at KLCC area, cheapest and fastest option is via BUS in front of Little India. Board any buses that passby Little India, the buses are all toward Jalan Ampang with fare RM1.00 or RM1.20 i thinks, forget the extract fare, sorry.
Thank you. End.
All the best to Nike We Run KL runners endure the traffic to the starting point and finishing point.

Nike We Run KL Registration Open & Close - 7th Sept 2012
Nike Registration open at 9:00am. I'm was busy with my works and totally forget about it. When i'm checking my facebook updates at 12:30pm, i saw people mentions it's closed, or system slow or error... etc etc...
9.08am, Nike Running Malaysia posted Registration is NOW OPEN.
At 3.26pm, Nike Running Malaysia posted saying Registration is NOW CLOSED.
15,000 slots are taken up within 5 hours 7minutes!!! Wow! ! ! it's sound too good too popular !
Just scanning through the Nike Running Malaysia Facebook, everyone complains double paid, no confirmation slip and etc etc kind of problem. It is advisable not to write your personal information in facebook page on your complains. Send an e-mail would be best way.
Meanwhile, there's 1 of my friend's logic saying Nike might re-open some slots, 100 or 200 or maybe 1000 perhaps? His reasoning are there's so many people paid double, triple or 4 or 5 times. It's now Nike Malaysia suffering working hard to clear up the double registration. Once the duplicate registrations are removed, there will be several hundreds to thousand slot available... keep the fingers cross!
Congratulation to those successful to be part of Nike We Run KL 2012.
End.

We Run KL 10k 2012 - How to go and back?
Many many running races in KL, or in Malaysia start and end at the same place. Same goes to oversea races.
Many would ask, where to park at Jalan Ampang? How to come back to Jln Ampang after finishing at Dataran Merdeka if i park at Jln Ampang?
People asking these questions because they never have confidence in public transport in KL.
2 days to go until details on We Run KL reveal. I thinks Nike Malaysia organizer would be include advise on how to go and the best way to starting point!
My suggestion:
TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORT !!! Public Transport here i mean LRT, monorail and bus.
Let's assume the starting point which i mentioned in previous entry is at Zouk Club KL nearby.
1. Via Putra LRT
Get our at KLCC station and walk toward Menara Public Bank direction.
2. Via Monorail
Get out at Bukit Nanas station and walk toward KLCC direction.
3. STAR LRT
Come out at Masjid Jamek and change to Putra LRT and get out at KLCC, follow number 1.
4. Bus
Any Rapid KL buses that go KLCC able to reach at Zouk Club.
Ok, above are the "how to go" starting point. If you really have to drive and park at Jln Ampang (this is not encouraged, as the heart of KL city will be locked down for We Run KL run! massive traffic jam expected.)
from Dataran Merdeka back to Jln Ampang, there's can back via Putra LRT and buses.
Bus option would be the fastest and cheapest. Hoop on to any buses that stop at Little India, you can reach any part of Jln Ampang you like. KLCC, Ampang Park, Great Eastern Mall and etc etc. Just ask the bus driver whether your destionation at Jln Ampang got passby or not, it would cost less than RM2.00.
Anyway, too much of assumption would not be helping. Waits 2 more days!!!

How many "25" words you saw in the highlighted words above? it's three times. Sigh. Old folks like me who above 25 years old wont be excited not happy but disappointed, sad, sorrow when read about the fees. The younger get cheaper rate, while older need to pay more.
Congratulation to those UNDER 25 years old youth! You now can enjoy a cheaper run....! But how many youth below 25 years old are into running? 10km, perhaps a short distance for a youth to run.
Let's wait for 7th Sept 2012 onward, let's see this year 2012, will We Run KL Nike still able to fills up 15,000 slots within 60 hours like last year.
Happy register on 7th Sept 2012, 9am !!!
2012, there's no more excitement factor for me to join like in 2011.
To be continue....

We Run SG 10K
Our neighbor Nike Singapore just posted this on their Facebook page Nike Running Singapore! It's interesting to see and read the comments posted by fellow Singaporeans feedback on the run. hehe...
one of the comment posted on FAQ:
Entry fees are as follows (all fees are inclusive of 7%GST)
Entry fee for 1 person:
S$35 (24 years old and below as of 21.10.12)
S$45 (25 years old and above as of 21.10.12)
Entry fee for 2 people registering as Buddies (meaning registering together on the same Registration Form):
S$60 (24 years old and below as of 21.10.12)
Again, like previous year, buddies run, are cheaper than register alone. So get ur partner information ready!
2012, this year, get your buddies and register together to enjoy cheaper rate!
Wonder will Nike KL do the same this? Get ready! Prepare for yourselves~!

We Run KL 10K - 2012 #WeRunKL Updates
Confirmed! WeRunKL will be held on 13 October 2012 ! It's million dollar question: When is Nike We Run KL 2012? Now it's answered!
Found this photo posted on Twitter with #WeRunKL...
Are you able to spot We Run Kuala Lumpur??? It's 14th race which falls on 13th October 2012...
While there's a reader Lings mentions that the info she got from school: "what i received from my school is will be start from zouk club and end at dataran merdeka. :D "
Start from Zouk Club, Jalan Ampang, KL and end at Dataran Merdeka. How to solve your logistic transportation problem if you are planning to drive.
Ideally park your car somewhere near to Dataran Merdeka, if you have to drive else there's can be car-less mode to go Nike WeRunKL race!
First let's talk about car-less via public transport mode. Zouk KL, it's nearest public transport would be Putra LRT, KLCC and Monorail Bukit Nanas. Just park your car at Kelana Jaya or whatever LRT station near to your house and get off at KLCC station.
From KLCC, you walk to Public Bank direction and you can see Wisma Selangor Dredging Selangor and next Maya Hotel, Zouk is opposite Maya Hotel.
From Bukit Nanas monoral, you walk toward KLCC direction, Zouk Club is just half way to KLCC.
Next, a solution for myself where i'm going to drive, (if im decided to join as I have KOM Cameron Highland race on 14 Oct at Simpang Pulai, Perak, which start at 7:30am) I would park my car at runner's famous hot spot, which is at Bukit Aman Car Park. Then walk to Dataran Merdeka.
Depends on the weather and mood of the day, if feel good, FYI, walking from Dataran Merdeka to Zouk Club is achievable follow Leboh Ampang road starting from Little India. Just a straight road which would connect you to Jln Ampang.
Feel lazy to walk under the hot sun? there's another solution, pay RM1.00 or RM1.20 bus, take any buses at Little India, within 10-15 minutes journey depending on traffic of the day, (assume the road is not close for traffic yet) the bus will passby Zouk KL. Press the bell once you passby Renaissance Hotel! I bet some of you never take bus ride before right, it's opportunity to experience yourselves.
Anyway, on the bus suggestion, it's too early to decide, as I'm not sure how's the road condition on the race day. Will the road close for traffic or not.
Lastly, talk so long, date is known, next, WHEN IS REGISTRATION will be open for public??? See photo below!
Enjoy!
End.

Nike - We Run Prague 10K race - T-shirt
Woo Hoo... The power of Facebook! It's seem Malaysia runners are sharing this Nike Running Club Prague on their Nike 10k race.... !
Do you see the similar design with We Run KL T-shirt?
We Run KL 10K 2012 - T-Shirt !!!
Guess what... i spotted this photo being shared in Facebook. It's seem some conflicts happening between XX and XX... which im not bother to find out...
Anyway... Nike #WeRunKL T-shirt was being displayed at some college place where Nike conducted their registration for the #WeRunKL race.
Anyway, by the way, Facebook users are sharing this photo all over the place! Have you spot this photo???

We Run KL 10K - 2012
Much anticipated Nike We Run KL 10K 2012 race. I saw this photo being shared. Not sure how accurate the information. As we can see below, the date falls on 13 October 2012, 5:30pm which is Saturday evening. Start Jln Ampang. End Dataran Merdeka.
Logistic will be a headache for runners. Anyway, for me, i would park my car at nearby Dataran Merdeka, perhaps Bukit Aman Car Park, then walk to nearest Putra LRT station take LRT to Jln Ampang. .
Another cheaper option would be by bus! Car still park at BA Car Park, walk to Masjis India and take any bus which show "jln Ampang" sign. From Jln Leboh Ampang, the bus will travel along the road and into Jln Ampang.
Hope my suggestion able give some hints, idea on logistic for the Nike We Run KL.

Run Buddy Run Nike+ Challenge - Nov 15, 2011
Since my last post Nov 5, 2011, I was stopped using Nike+ over the weekend.
Just feel something not right in me. I was skipped Nike+ over my high mileages weekend and im only resume back on weekday.
Few day no clocking on mileages, my placing dropped. To be honest, seeing the KM figures in the Nike+ can be really de-motivated and some part its motivated.
I thinks i was demotivated, and i skipped using Nike+ during the last weekend. I really have no idea how people can run 300KM plus within 8 days... this really turn off to me!
Weekend were over, and looking at the figures again, I need turn this de-motivation to motivation as i need mileages for my 100KM The Most Beautiful Thing #TMBT. This week is crucial week, it's high mileage week that i can do so, so does next week last week to do so...
Okay, so i turn this into motivation and i ran Tuesday AM, Tuesday PM, Wednesday AM, Wednesday PM and Thursday PM all were at Lake Garden. Its were a treasure to run so many sessions at 1 single place without getting bored. Thank you runners who run with me.... but most of the time AM sessions i ran alone.
Just in care: Those not aware of TMBT can click here: The Most Beautiful Thing 100KM
By this weekend which end on Sunday for me, i shall break into Top 10. Wish me all the best and good luck!

Nike+ Challenge #WeRunKL, Oct 5, 2011
3 days, its all i need to break into the Top10 of the Run Buddy Run Nike+ challenge by #WeRunKL.
I'm at 9th position today! The real competition is just started.
To be honest, i'm just a newbie to Nike+. Nothing much i know about Nike+ thingy. I know that I'm been running for the past 3 days continuous running everyday morning and evening session for me to reach at 9th position.
I know, running too much and on everyday basis will increase the risk of injury, which is a nightmare to a runner specially I'm preparing for The Most Beautiful Thing 100KM trail run @ KK.
Hello top10 runners. Let's run.
