There has recently been some confusion in regards to the date of The River Jungle Marathon 2012. The official date is on 9th September 2012.

A quick search on my blog, i'm just realised i did not blog about River Jungle Marathon 2011 post run! Oh Mi God... Sigh. Shall do a proper one... with pending HK100 race report too... 

I'm were on full SKINS compression top and tight. :) 

It's was in Sept 2011, it's where i'm in tip top condition in preparation for TMBT 2011 which held in November 2011. 

I'm felt so proud that I'm managed to run up most of the Bukit Hantu hills compared to 2011 where i walked all the way up.

We will be launching this race by 2nd April 2012.
The date selected for 2012 is on 9th September 2012

Location remains in Kampung Bt. 18, Hulu Langat.

VolksWagen & The River Jungel Marathon 2011

Guess what...
What you can see from the photo below?
It's my The River Jungle Marathon race bib which the marathon will be held on coming Sunday 5.00am at Hulu Langat, Batu 18.

What's interest me is VolksWagen are the Official car for the River Jungle Marathon.! Running with a lot VW cars supporting us in the marathon!

For some, VW might seem not an interesting thing to you, but I visited the Das Auto show not long ago and was impressed by the show. :)

That's how and why I'm so excited with VW... haha...

Not sure what type of support cars will be on Sunday?

Touareg ? Perhaps most probably as it's a SUV can fetch lots of waters ! hehe

Polo ? Perhaps be one of the safety car? 

Golf ?  

Polo GTI ? It's would be great !  

Golf GTI... Wondering, if there's runners DNF, will organiser use this Golf GTI to fetch runner back to starting point? A very huge temptation to DNF right... haha... 

The power house of VW... As safety car too ? 

Eos..with hard top roof fully automatic transform to open air car!  this car is most suitable to fetch the official photographer RunWitMe to snap photos of runners ! 

Are you agree RunWitMe, PT ? haha... 

Passat CC - a big family car... can be use to fetch staffs to water station points. 

haha... 

Tiguan... can carry the water and tables for water station! 

Lastly perhaps this red VW Beetle ? 

To be driven by pretty girls cheering runners along the 42km ! 

We love to see this happening... haha...

HOW DID THE RIVER JUNGLE MARATHON 2011 COME ABOUT?

The River Jungle Marathon 2011 is back by popular demand!

The River Jungle Marathon is one of the most beautiful marathon destinations in Malaysia. Located just 20-minutes from the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the marathon is set amidst a landscape like no other. On this full marathon route, you will experience a mix of Malaysia’s beautiful landscape bringing you through valleys, rivers, dams and mountains.

Experience all this without even having to leave the road, as The River Jungle Marathon is an On Road run. 

WHY THE RIVER JUNGLE MARATHON 2011?

We believe running should be fun; it shouldn’t be all about how fast we can run.

The River Jungle Marathon is not a race. There is no big prize money at the finish line. It’s simply for runners who find joy of just being able to run! It’s a run that attracts runners from all walks of life. So we recommend for you to bring a notepad and exchange numbers!

This year however, we intend to have a photography contest. So, be prepared to whip out your camera and bring it along for the run! 

WHERE DO WE START / END?

The race will begin next to the Police Station Batu 18, Hulu Langat. (or Balai Polis Bt. 18, Hulu Langat) It will end, at the same place. 

THE ROUTE

The first thing you need to know is that you will be running a full marathon distance. It’s 42.195 km (or a little more), and there is no other distance. It is, not for the faint of heart.

The River Jungle Marathon is a road run (all asphalt, and no, it’s not a trail run). The route will take you through the scenic villages of Hulu Langat leading you up a 1000 feet climb or about 2.5KM of non-stop uphill running, past valleys, rivers, mountain views, jungle, a hot spring, and even monkeys. Yes, monkeys (if you’re lucky).

It won’t be easy, but if you’re a nature lover who likes getting away from the usual hustle and bustle of a city road race then this will be exactly what you will be looking for!

The River Jungle Marathon 2011

Its coming back this year again! The Malaysia ONLY Boutique Marathon The River Jungle Marathon which only have 1 category which is 42km.

We were having our fun at The River Jungle Marathon last year. We started at Ulu Langat small town at 5.30am and its was so dark! We running with headlights in the dark in the kampung! Its was scary and yet excited! haha... run run run... its in Ulu Langat and the fresh air really good for running! Besides that, we have to run up hilly hill for 2-3km and downhill for 2-3km again! After hills, we run pass Semenyih Dam, if im not wrong! Its was fun, its was fun to suffer together! We enjoyed it!

Im just realised im forgets to blog on the race report. Okay, im too shy to blog about my result. I was completed in 6 hours 45mins which was my worse marathon timing!
